Heading North

Well, seems like half the battle of this vacation is making sure we have the RV ready to roll. From a new tire to a new battery there are many ways to spend our money before we even get to the first gas station. Loading up 4 kids, bikes, psp’s, DS’s, Abbott and Costellos and head north to escape the blazin’ Texas heat for a couple of weeks. I’m going to be pulling my Honda Pilot, which in turn will be pulling the 6 bikes—I think it measured out to about approximetly the length of a block.

And once we got rolling, we found out the electrical was not working on the tail lights to our hitched car. So basically, no brake lights, no turn signal lights and so on. We stopped in several places from Oklahoma City to Kansas City, but no luck—so we just kept rolling.

Made it to St Joseph, Missouri by 10:30 pm to sleep over at one of the fineist Walmarts in our country. I mean it was so cool that teenagers flocked there in the middle of the night, just hung out from department to department. Parking lot full of teenagers hanging, and cars ripping thru the parking lot. Seriously it was the place to be. Or maybe… it was the only place to be in St Joseph, Missouri.

Got up early the next morning and headed North on the 29 through Omaha, Sioux City, Sioux Falls to get on the 90 and headed West into South Dakota. Beautiful, beautiful drive. We had to take a break so the first stop—the  Corn Palace. Not sure what I can say about the corn Palace, not even words can describe. After that, fueled up and headed  West again to our first camping stop the Badlands.
